'There was consensus that College Place needs to be done first'

February bond measure: New school would increase productivity, administrators say

When designers created College Place Middle School 50 or so years ago, they probably thought it looked pretty good.

Maybe.

But today, most would say the Lynnwood school – where most Edmonds kids attend – is just plain ugly. And not functional at all, as its six buildings and one gym are not connected and simply not functional in its layout.

As the Beacon reported last week, that might soon change.

The Edmonds School District board of directors have approved placing a $600 million capital construction bond on the ballot for a special election Feb. 11. If voters approve it – it needs 6...
