During a recent trip to Philadelphia, I spent a good bit of time happily reading restaurant reviews in the local newspapers.
On the East Coast cities may be larger, but neighborhoods still remain clear and distinct, and this is reflected in the restaurants, as well. Neighborhood restaurants represent the character of an area, but also are treasured by the locals as their own personal kitchens (who attempt to keep them for residents within the boundaries of a few blocks).
