Strong performances from pitcher Kate Houghton and the Meadowdale defense propelled the Mavericks to their 11th straight league victory.

Houghton struck out 10 to lead Meadowdale to a 5-0 win over district rival Edmonds-Woodway in a Wesco 3A softball game Wednesday, May 1, at Meadowdale High School.

The Mavericks finished with 13 hits, but most of them were spread out throughout the six innings thus limiting their scoring opportunities.
