The identity of a man who was found dead in Yost Park in Edmonds last year has been identified as 58-year-old Timothy D. Conrad of Snohomish County.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office used DNA results to determine family members, working with them for identification.
Conrad had probably been dead for up to a month when hikers discovered him Nov. 10 off a main trail, Edmonds Police told the Beacon in February, and asked the public for help with identification.
Earlier this month, Edmonds Police released a sketch of the then-unknown man based on a photo Edmonds Police received on Sept. 30 from a resident who took a picture of the man in the 8700 block of Main Street, up the hill from Yost Park’s north entrance.
The resident thought the man looked suspicious.
The medical examiner had previously ruled the man’s death a suicide, and Edmonds Police Detective Andy Mehl said all signs pointed to him being homeless. He did not carry identification, and dental records uncovered no clues.
