Sponsored Brief: Your Money Minute: Three Savings Tips for Tight Budgets

Last updated 3/28/2019 at Noon

Education is at the center of everything we do at Inspirus Credit Union. In 2018 alone, Inspirus gave over $650,000 to schools, students, and teachers. It is also the credit union’s wish to equip others with the knowledge to achieve their financial goals.

For example, how do you save on an already tight budget? Here are three proven tips to help you save:

Buy wholesale

Buying in bulk, especially for shelf-stable items, is a great way to start saving. A Costco Gold Star membership costs $60, but the annual savings can easily exceed the investment. Other options include Amazon Prime, Smart Foodservice (formerly Cash&Carry), or the Grocery Outlet.

Account for everything

From online banking to budgeting software, there are a variety of apps available to help. Clarity Money is one of our favorites—primarily because it gives you a full view of your financial picture.

Try the cash diet

Instead of debit and credit cards, using cash for daily expenses will help you pace your spending against what you actually have available.
