"History is written by the winners." I have seen that quote attributed to George Orwell, Napoleon and, more recently, Dan Brown. The phrase itself represents how difficult it is to reconcile history.
Edmonds history doesn't have winners and losers, unless you consider the indigenous people who no longer use Shell Creek Beach and Marina Beach. But the difficulty remains.
The person most noted as the founder of Edmonds was known for telling stories. So it becomes necessary to find corroborating evidence, which doesn't always exist.
