King’s girls rebound after opening loss | Girls basketball

King’s rebounded with a vengeance after losing its 1A Northwest District 1 girls basketball tournament opener.

A day after Lynden Christian defeated the Knights 65-48, King’s pummeled Coupeville 48-11 on Thursday, Feb. 7, at King’s High School. The victory clinched a berth for the Knights in next week’s Bi-District tournament. Freshman Jada Wynn led King’s (18-5) with 13 points.

The Knights then defeated Nooksack Valley 59-41 Wednesday, Feb. 13. King's is scheduled to host University Prep at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, at King's High School.

KING’S BOYS OPEN WITH BLOWOUT: King’s defeated Meridian 87-49 in a 1A Northwest District boys basketball tournament opener Thursday, Feb. 7, at King’s High School.

The Knights (17-5) lost 70-63 to Lynden Christian (22-0) in the district title game on Wednesday, Feb. 13. King's is scheduled to host a yet-to-be determined team at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, at King's High School.
