Churches brighten holidays for 190 families

Lindsey Velasquez won one of the bikes donated by Alderwood-Terrace Rotary.

On Dec. 8, 190 families visited the Toy Shop for needy families sponsored by the Edmonds Unitarian Congregation and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Donations of toys, games, and gift cards were provided by the Alderwood-Terrace Rotary Club, Toys for Tots, Edmonds Kiwanis, Lynnwood Unity Church, and the Edmonds Unitarian Congregation, over 600 children will be waking up Christmas morning with huge smiles on their faces.

“A huge, heartfelt thanks to those who donated,” said Kathleen Sears, a Toy Shop volunteer.

“Families picked out gifts for over 600 children.This year's event was made even more special by Alderwood-Terrace Rotary's donation of four bicycles, with winners selected by a drawing. Thanks to this wonderful community collaboration, a lot more children will be waking up with big smiles on their faces this Christmas.”
