2019 budget includes $1.3 million for the marsh

The Edmonds City Council approved its 2019 budget on Tuesday, a budget so top-heavy with amendments that Finance Director Scott James was scrambling to provide the exact dollar amount late Wednesday. It wasn’t available at press time.
Last year’s budget came in at $92.4 million.
The big takeaway was the council’s decision to allocate $1.3 million toward restoration efforts of the Edmonds Marsh, money that Councilmember Diane Buckshnis said is needed to show state and federal grant funders that it has “skin in the game.”
