Peraza leads Warriors to fourth place finish at state meet | Cross country

Edmonds-Woodway’s Alyssa Hershey finished 21st in the girls race.

Edmonds-Woodway senior Deyago Peraza ran his second fastest time of the season on what everyone agreed was one of the most challenging courses.

Peraza finished fifth at the 3A state boys cross country championships Saturday, Nov. 3, at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Peraza’s time of 15 minutes, 44.1 seconds matched his time at the Twilight Invitational earlier this season.

“For a guy who’s been only running for two years, he’s running extremely well,” Edmonds-Woodway coach Al Bonney said. “When he gets more experience, he’s going to be really phenomenal.
