King’s offense moves ball in nonleague loss | Football

King’s ended its preseason schedule with its fourth straight loss.

Cascade (Leavenworth) defeated the Knights 40-10 in a nonconference football game Friday, Sept. 21, at the Peshastin-Dryden Sports Complex

But the final score isn’t necessarily the whole story.

King’s coach Jim Shapiro has reasons for optimism as his team opens league play this week against Coupeville.

“We moved the ball really well,” Shapiro said.

The Knights ended up running 72 plays versus Cascade’s 35 and King’s finished with 20 first downs to their opponent’s 6.
