E-W unable to overcome first quarter deficit | Football

Edmonds-Woodway took a step in the right direction against Shorecrest.

But too many self-inflicted mistakes helped the Scots prevail 35-14 in a Wesco 3A South football game Friday, Sept. 7, at Edmonds Stadium.

Two fumbles inside the Shorecrest 5 and a costly pick-6 simply were too much for the Warriors to overcome.

“I thought we played a lot better when it came to effort,” Edmonds-Woodway coach John Gradwohl said. “We made some big mistakes that cost us. … Unfortunately, we did some things to give away points. Shorecrest is a really good team.”
