The Port of Edmonds

June 8 was World Oceans Day, and marked the end of the Port of Edmonds’ 30-Day Challenge to Refuse Single-Use Plastic.

The two events are directly related in that plastic constitutes roughly 90 percent of all trash found floating on the ocean's surface. Furthermore, approximately 100,000 marine mammals and 1 million sea birds are killed annually from the plastics in our ocean.

We must take a stand against plastic.
