Mavericks capture first league title since 2012 | Baseball


A strong finish propelled Meadowdale to its first Wesco 3A baseball championship since 2012.

The Mavericks closed out the regular season by winning four out of their final five contests, including a series sweep over Shorewood, a victory over Stanwood and a series split with district rival Lynnwood.

“I’m really proud of this group of kids,” Meadowdale coach Bill Hummel said. “They competed well. They went out and earned the league championship.”
