District comes in below state average for absenteeism

According to a recent study, Edmonds School District students are in class more often than students in other districts across the state.
The Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Instruction released data in February on chronic absenteeism, or missing more than 18 full days in an academic year either excused or unexcused.
In Washington state, about 16 percent of K-12 students were chronically absent in 2015 compared to 12.65 percent of students in the Edmonds School District.
