Community comes first

My campaign has been a very long and knowledgeable path for me.
There were many days in which I was overwhelmed and relied on my faith (in myself, my family, my friends, my supporters believing in me and my God). Some days my faith inched me along.
Each and everyone one of my supporters deserve my thanks and appreciation.
I won the Primary and am extremely proud of the support I received from the community as a first time candidate.
My campaign was positive, community focused and issue-based. My grass-roots campaign relied on people understanding and believing in my skills and experiences.
I developed a close group of friends that became my "think-tank" to whom I am grateful for their unlimited energy and advice.
I consider myself a winner as I understand the importance of community over politics. If I hadn't applied for Ms. Dawson's appointment and subsequently campaigned for her council position, I would have never met so many wonderful people.
I truly believe Community comes first and in my campaign, I stuck to that message.
I wish the best of luck to Mr. Peterson and the other council members.
I hope they value and respect my message emphasizing fiscal responsibility and transparency, as well as respecting Edmonds' heritage while promoting sustainable growth.
I'm looking forward to continuing my efforts supporting the dog park, the Edmonds Arts Festival, the Edmonds Floretum Garden Club, the Senior Center, and other community-based pursuits.
Life is what we make and I am a very lucky person!
