Less than 24 hours after the Mukilteo City Council voted to put the annexation proposal on the Nov. 3 ballot last week, the process came to a screeching halt when Fire District 1 voted unanimously to sue the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board in Superior Court.
The BRB unanimously approved Mukilteos latest annexation proposal in early July, after soundly rejecting a previous attempt it felt was less well thought out.
Mukilteo is proposing to annex a section of unincorporated Snohomish County south of the city that includes around 11,000 residents.
