Ambush is politics as usual

Concerning the letter from Councilmember Tony Tinsley of July 29. It appears that ambush politics is his preferred form.
I don't claim to know too much about his subject of Dr. Scott Casselman's Parks and Arts Commission. So if he has done some good work, that's great. And Councilmember Tinsley's claim that hes been involved as a citizen for 30 years. If that's the case then its time to start getting some younger people involved also.
I have seen things that make me less than enthusiastic. Take that 92nd Street Park of Harbor Pointe's that Mukilteo has something approaching $20,000,000 invested in.
Or take the promotion of building homes in close to Paine Field, for the living shield. Or the moving the Mukilteo-Clinton Ferry to Everett.
From Councilmember Tinsley's letter one could easily gather that the position is being used as an opposition political base camp.
I do hope Dr. Casselman stays involved in the city's parks and arts.
Still it's all politics, and politics at times isn't necessarily fair or nice in everyone's view and sometimes people change their minds or have their minds changed.
You should know how it is, Tony. Remember how the deal was already made to build City Hall at the Rosehill site and you went to work to undo that. And what a fine site you helped pick.
There are a few things about Councilmember Tinsley's letter that cause me some concern. Take his calling the Mayor a "dolt," according to Webster, "a stupid person."
A councilmember that resorts to name calling of fellow councilmembers in the press is one that is in need of a vacation.
Another thing of concern is that Councilmember Tinsley refers to "we." Well just who is "we" - did the council have an unadvertised meeting? Councilmember Tinsley signed off as the "Mukilteo City Council" as he was the spokesperson for the whole council.
