Mukiltean earns Special Olympics medal

Mukilteo resident Vicken Ouyarian recently won a fourth place medal at the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games, which took place Feb. 7-13 Boise, Idaho.
More than 3,000 athletes from 85 countries competed in seven different Olympic-type sports.
One of 14 Special Olympics Washington athletes, Ouyarian represented Washington state and the United States in the Figure Skating category, where he earned his medal in the Singles competition.
