Mary Louise Neilsen: 1934-2025

Mary Louise Neilsen, aged 91, passed away on March 12, 2025, in Edmonds. Born on January 2, 1934, Mary dedicated much of her life to the community of Edmonds, significantly contributing to the local Chamber of Commerce and playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the Edmonds Museum. Additionally, she served many years at Woodway Senior High School as the counselor's secretary.

Mary was a kind and loving individual, known for her nonjudgmental and attentive nature. She was always ready to lend an ear and support those around her. Mary's life was rich with activities; she cherished traveling in her RV alongside her husband and best friend, Jack, enjoyed dancing to swing music, and loved spending quality time playing with her grandchildren. Her social circle was wide, consisting of dear friends with whom she loved to spend time.

Mary is survived by her husband, Jack L. Neilsen, 94; Jeff L. Neilsen (son) and Yoko T. Neilsen (daughter-in-law); Daniel L. Neilsen (son) and Suzanne L. Neilsen (daughter-in-law); and grandchildren Emma P. Neilsen and Andrew J. Neilsen. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ary.

Mary's life will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, dedication to her community, and the joy she brought to her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and the community she helped build.
