Gladys Vordahl: 1930-2023

Gladys Joan Vordahl, age 92 of Edmonds, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2023. One of six sisters, she was born to Gladys and Joseph Zerwas in Solway, Minnesota on Sept. 27, 1930. The family moved to West Seattle in 1942, where Gladys graduated from Holy Rosary High School as class valedictorian.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and friend. Gladys was a country girl at heart. She was an avid gardener and charitable volunteer who treasured her family. She will always be in our hearts and greatly missed.

Gladys is survived by her seven children: Victor (Marina) Crandall, Ken (Cheryl) Crandall, Joseph (Claudia) Crandall, Paul Crandall, Miki Farmer, Jeff (Jéaux) Rinedahl, and Kate (Donna Morris) Crandall; nine grandchildren, Laura, Paula, Julie and John Crandall, Cheyne and Dannon Church, Atiana, Amber and Allison Morris; two great-grandchildren Connor and Quinn Church; sisters Leona Aubin and Josephine Griest; stepchildren James, Janice, Tom, Joyce and Karl Vordahl.

Gladys was preceded in death by her sisters Norma Blish, Marion Rowe and Elaine Sunseri, husband John Vordahl, and stepchildren Brian and Lisa Vordahl.

Family and friends are invited to a mass and reception July 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosery Parish, 760 Aloha St., Edmonds.
