Sandra "Sandie" McBride: 1943-2023 and Orval Gerald "Gerry" McBride Jr.: 1941-2022

Posted

Sandra was a woman of vibrant spirit born in Monmouthshire, Wales, immigrating to the United States through Ellis Island when she was a child. Gerald was a huge-hearted, good-natured, gentle man venturing to the Pacific Northwest from Red Lodge, Montana. The two met in 1980 and married in 1982.

Lover of all things sweet, she fancied a spot of hot tea while Gerry enjoyed salted snacks and a sip of Scotch. Sandie found delight in taking beach walks with the pups, tending to her English gardens, and singing and dancing, particularly to the tunes of "The Sound of Music." She got a kick out of pickleball, trying on funny hats, and freebies.

They devoted 40 years to real estate alongside each other, forming an unbreakable team. Avid skiers, and poor golfers, you could always find them immersed in good books and playing fun games with loved ones.

They embraced camping in the rain, traveling with friends and, in later years, taking R.V. road trips with the cousins to the casinos "for a go." Together, they donated countless time volunteering for the Red Cross, offering aid and comfort through many natural disasters our country faced.

Sandie's vivacity lives on through her two adoring daughters, Kellie and Robin; her cherished grandson, Jack, whom she doted over with boundless love; her beloved son-in-law, Ryan; and Teddy, the pup formerly known as Yeti (a name Dad could lovingly never quite remember).

They will be missed by countless family members, friends, and colleagues. We are grateful she will be joining the love of her life, Gerald, and many others up in heaven for a row. May she rest in eternal peace, her razzle-dazzle forever lighting our hearts.

Combined Celebration of Life – Happy Hour Services will be held for both Sandie and Gerry on September 30th, 2023, at The Winn Resort in Brier. For evite and address please email the family: mcbridehometeam@gmail.com. Carpooling is encouraged.
