Jean Elizabeth Holt passed away at age 81 at her home in Edmonds on Sept. 18, 2023. She was born in Snohomish on Dec. 23, 1941, to Ernest and Cordula Lokken.
She attended school at Zion Lutheran School through the eighth grade there. She completed her education at Snohomish High School, graduating in 1960. She attended business school and went to work for WSECU.
She met Alan Holt, and they were married on May 30, 1980, just after they purchased their home in Edmonds, and shortly after the eruption of Mount St. Helens. They lived there, making it a welcoming place for many friends and relatives. They both were avid skiers, hikers, and worldwide travelers.
They had a place at Lake Chelan that was enjoyed by many for over 30 years. They spent more than 20 years tailgating at Husky games. Alan passed away in 2019. She continued her life in Edmonds managing home repairs, daily walking, gardening, and entertaining.
She especially liked to decorate and prepare special meals for the holidays. She was an amazing grandmother to the grandkids. They all have a lifetime's treasure house of wonderful memories of their experiences with her.
She is survived by her brother, Darrell Lokken (Elaine); Al's children, Stan, Steve, and Ted Holt; Joy Hilliker (Darin); grandchildren Derek Holt, Jenna and Bradley Holt; Hannah and Summer Hilliker; and nieces Kerry Reid (Chris), and Wendy Turnbull (Brian).
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish and Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Mountlake Terrace, where she taught at the preschool, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood. She volunteered at Clothes for Kids, and church groups. She enjoyed her gatherings with high school classmates and book club members.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood on Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. A graveside service is scheduled at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Snohomish on Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.
