Posted

In grief, we as a family of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, announce the passing of Anthony Lynn "Tony" Johnson on June 3, 2023.

Tony was diagnosed with a malignant tumor 10 years ago and had undergone two major surgeries at the University of Washington. Tony's faith and perseverance despite many challenges gave him a productive and fruitful life in living with cancer.

Tony was born on October 31, 1957, to parents Dennis and Sarah Johnson in Caldwell, Idaho, and moved with his family to Olympia in 1969. Tony was inquisitive as a youngster in electronics, and exhibited extraordinary cognitive abilities and enjoyed utilizing his electro set in building numerous objects that would move and lift.

Tony graduated from Olympia High School 1976. In 1995, he met and married Rhondalyn at Westgate Chapel in Edmonds. In marriage, they enjoyed the companionship of their dogs Wilma and Elizabeth.

Tony's passion in mathematics helped him succeed in achieving his master's degree at the University of Washington. He enjoyed reading history and numerous politicians' memoirs regardless of political affiliation.

Tony's first job was with Hughes Aircraft in California, before migrating to Washington state to work for Fluke, Universal Avionics, HTI – Hydroacustic, Ossia, Nytec, and Accenture.

He enjoyed the challenge with each position and thrived to prove his abilities and contribution to each company's success. Tony had no interest in retiring; instead, he wanted to learn more in different facets of the electronic engineering field.

Tony leaves behind his wonderful wife, Rhondalyn Johnson, and their dog, Elizabeth; Tony's sisters, Gloria and CJ; and his brother, Rod.

In witness of Jesus Christ, Tony's memorial service will be held at Berean Church, 2345 North 185th St., Shoreline, on Saturday, June 24, at 11 a.m.
