Join the Edmonds Arts Commission for another of this
summer’s Concerts in the Park series, for a FREE performance by Hot Club
Sandwich of hot Gypsy jazz, on Sunday, August 8, at 3 p.m.
All concerts are held in Edmonds City Park located at
3rd and Pine in downtown Edmonds. Bring the family, lawn chairs or blanket for
some great music and family entertainment.
Hot Club Sandwich brings its unique character to the
acoustic swing and Gypsy jazz pioneered by Django Reinhardt and Stephane
Grapelli’s Quintet of the Hot Club in France.
Adding original compositions, light hearted vocal
numbers, clever arrangements and elements of Latin American acoustic music, HCS
creates its own voice.
Collectively and individually, Hot Club Sandwich draws
from a diverse musical background encompassing many parts of the acoustic music
globe.
The band’s members are Ray Wood, guitar; Kevin Connor,
guitar, vocals, and Cuban Tres guitar; Greg Ruby, guitar; James Schneider,
upright bass, banjo and guitar; Matt Sircely, mandolin; and Tim Wetmiller,
violin.
This year’s Summer Concerts in the Park series is
generously sponsored by Lynnwood Honda and Acura of Lynnwood.
Concerts are presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission
on behalf of the Edmonds City Council and are accessible to persons with
disabilities.
In the event of rain, the concert will be cancelled at
2:30. The next Concert in the Park
is August 15 and features the African rhythms of Juba Marimba.
