Kamiak state champion swimmers Tyler Carriker and Chris Lynch sign letters of intent to Seattle University. The two will earn their college educations by making up half the schools four-man swim crew. The competition was particularly fierce this year after University of Washington axed its swim program, leaving Seattle University the only Division 1A swim program in the state. Behind them are Kamiak swim coaches Erin Quinn and Chris Erickson.

SU was both swimmers first choice, Carriker said.

Carriker will major in business and Japanese, while Erickson plans to major in English; the two plan to room together or with other swimmers.
Its going to be nice to have a friend on the team who Ive trained with so long, Carriker said.

Theyll train in the mornings while working as lifeguards this summer.
