Track fans wont have to worry about splinters in their behinds this week.

The Mukilteo School District is closing off the main grandstand area at Goddard Stadium after its facility maintenance crew found some of the seating to be unsafe.

According to district spokesman Andy Muntz, structural engineers will be hired to inspect the district stadium at Mariner High School to see what can be done about it.

If they find its unsafe, well want to know what can be done to fix it, Muntz said.

Track fans planning to watch the district meet this week will have to settle for the smaller seating area on the south side of the stadium or stand around the track or infield.
