Review K-6 Reading and Writing Materials –
Open Houses March 22 and 23
Families of kindergarten through sixth-grade students and
interested community members are invited to review the reading and writing materials
we are considering for use in our classrooms.
Open house opportunities with the publishers will be held
(children are welcome!): Monday, March 22 from 2:30-7 p.m. and Tuesday, March
23 from 2:30-7 p.m. at former Woodway High School, 23200 100th Ave. W.,
Edmonds.
Materials being considered are:
-- Good Habits Great Readers & Writers K-5, and Grad e 6
Reader’s Journey, coupled with K-6 Developmental Reading Assessment 2nd
Edition, all published by Pearson
Education
-- Literacy Resources published by Benchmark Education, coupled with
Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System for reading published by Heinemann

Nominate a Student Today for the Youth Challenge Awards
Do you know a student whose contributions usually do not
make the headlines, but should?
Within the Snohomish County community, hundreds of young
citizens are achieving personal success beyond academics and sports.
The Youth Challenge Awards Committee of the Lynnwood Rotary
Club needs your help to give these young people the credit they deserve.
If you know of a 7th through 12th grade student who deserves
to be recognized, please take a few minutes to nominate that exceptional person
for the community service, courage, creativity, environmental service,
inspiration, leadership or group award.
The deadline for nominations is March 31. You can download a
nomination form or complete the online nomination at www.youthchallengeawards.com.
Individuals or groups must live or attend school in Snohomish County.
