On April 11, Lorraine Pedersen, at age 90 left this earth.  Her family and the many people whose lives she touched will forever miss her.  Born in a beach cabin in Clinton, Washington to Violet and Alfred Joyce, Lorraine grew up in Edmonds.  Lorraine’s father and uncles pioneered the first auto ferry service, the Sound Ferry Lines.

Over the years she was a bookkeeper for several local businesses:  Ray’s Thiftway, QFC and Shoreline Community College.  In 1942 she married Clarence (Pete) Pedersen.  They loved water skiing; snow skiing, dancing, boating and traveling to Norway and Sweden.

They had two loving children, Karen and David.  Both Karen (1945-1982), Lorraine’s dear daughter, and Pete (1989) preceded her in death.  She is survived by her son, David; granddaughters Kristen (Curley) Sudduth, Katherine (Curley) Kush, Ashley (Pedersen) Butkovic, and Lauren Pedersen; grandson Justin Pedersen and six Great-grandsons.

From 1994 until her death, Lorraine shared her life with Robert Howisey doing all the things she loved:  Boating cruises, dancing and being an Arizona Snowbird.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Edmonds Methodist Church, 828 Caspers Street, Edmonds Washington, 98020 at 11:00 am on May 8.
