Robert J. BroderickRobert James Broderick, 88, quietly passed away at his home in Edmonds on April 1, 2010. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Carolyn, son Robert Thomas and daughters: Carol, Christine, and Robyn. He was also proud of six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A decorated World War II veteran, Mr. Broderick honorably served in the United States Army, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 82nd Airborne Division, with extensive combat experience in the European Theater.
Following his military service he graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Business Administration, and went on to a successful 30-year career with Ford Motor Company.
Privately he enjoyed gardening; building model airplanes, caring for his dogs and socializing with friends. He loved Whidbey Island, where he and his family kept a residence for many years. Known affectionately as “The Mighty Tiger,” he lived to serve his country, excel in his profession and, most of all, to provide for his family.
