Charles Robert "Mick" McKinley died unexpectedly in the early hours of January 12, 2010.  Mick was born in Vancouver, BC, on May 13, 1920 and moved to Washington State in the early years of his life.

He lived with his parents, Charles S. McKinley and Janet (Yule) McKinley, in Sunnyside, Yakima, Ballard and Alderwood Manor where he graduated from Edmonds High School in 1938.  In 1941 he married Sherel Hilton and they lived in Richmond Beach before moving to Edmonds in 1948 where they built a house and raised four sons.

Mick loved his life-long occupation as a master carpenter.  He also kept himself very busy in his retirement with carpentry projects for family and friends as well as traveling often throughout the Western states and Canadian provinces.

He was preceded in death by son David in 1973 and wife Sherel in 1989.  He is survived by sons Robert and wife Donna, Ed and wife Suzanne and John; grandchildren: Mason, Brenna, Chad and Angela; great-grandchildren: Davin, Audrey, Grace, Julia and Will; and by his partner of sixteen years, Terry Robb.

He lived his last years as he did all of them, fully and actively, with family and friends always nearby.

No funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Widowed Information Consultation Services of Snohomish County (WICS/SC), P.O. Box 1554, Everett, WA 98206.

Arrangements:  Beck’s Funeral Home, Edmonds, 425-771-1234; share memories with the family at ww.becksfuneralhome.com.
