Evelyn Harrell, Edmonds, WA, passed away peacefully Friday, November 20, 2009. Born Evelyn Blanche Mather, August 27, 1916 in Westport Township,MN., to parents Frank and Ella, Evelyn was a beloved sister to Cliff, Wayne, and Virgil.

She was a loving wife, mother of two, grandmother of five and great grandmother of six. After high school, Evelyn was crowned Miss Glenwood, MN. She married her first husband, Lloyd Wilkes. They went to the University of Minnesota and were preparing to be lawyers when the war broke out. They had two daughters, Carolyn and Gwen, and lived most of their 50 married years in Minneapolis.

Evelyn served as clerk of probate court, legal secretary and executive assistant in advertising and law. She was a golfer, a demonstrator for Evelyn Woods Reading Dynamics and a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She loved playing the organ. Evelyn and Lloyd moved to Edmonds in 1985, where they became active members of the Edmonds Senior Center and avid dancers.

After Lloyds death, Evelyn married Art Erickson whom she met dancing. Art passed away 14 years later and Evelyn met Cloyd Jiggs Harrell, also a member of the Senior Center. They celebrated their 5th anniversary this past week.

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, Jiggs, her daughters Carolyn (Conrad Bye) and Gwen (Kerry Nicholson) her grandchildren Bobbi, Kay, Jackie, Tara and Parker and her great-grandchildren, Rikki, Vandi, Danni, Stephen, Aden and Ashton. We will miss her greatly, but we are confident she is dancing once again.

A 2 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Becks Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. S., Edmonds, WA (425) 771-1234. Flowers gratefully declined in lieu of donations to the Alzheimers Association.
