Artists practicing in Craft, Literary, Media and Music Arts in Washington State are eligible to apply for the 2012 Artist Trust Fellowship.

This program recognizes practicing professional artists of exceptional talent and demonstrated ability, acknowledging an artist’s creative excellence and accomplishment, professional achievement and continuing dedication to their artistic discipline. 

 

The award amount is $7,500; $7,000 is unrestricted and $500 is payable to artists upon completion of a Meet the Artist event.

Meet the Artist events are offered by Fellowship recipients to a community that has little or no access to the artist and their work. Past Fellows have conducted events around the state, enriching community life throughout Washington. 

Applicants must apply online; Artist Trust now uses the CaFÉ ™ online application system. 

 

 

Entry Instructions:All materials should be submitted in digital format through CaFÉ ™ at www.callforentry.org.

To Use the CaFÉ ™ System:

1. Login, or new users register on CaFÉ to create a user name and password;

2. Format images, audio and video to site specifications for uploading;

3. After uploading work samples, click “Apply to Calls," search for "Artist Trust Fellowship 2012" and click "Apply to this Call."

 

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by application deadline date; be a generative artist, and a resident of Washington State at the time of application and when the award is granted. Applicants may NOT be a graduate or undergraduate matriculated student enrolled in any degree program by June 30, 2012.

Artists are encouraged to attend grant writing and professional development workshops and webinars offered by Artist Trust to artists around the state.

The Artist Trust Fellowship Program makes annual awards to artists working in eight disciplines.

In 2012, 16 individual, generative artists who reside in Washington State and work in Craft, Literary, Media and Music Arts will receive Fellowships. (Fellowships to artists working in Emerging Fields & Cross Disciplinary, Performing, Visual and Traditional & Folk Arts will be awarded in 2013.) 

The application deadline is February 26, 2012 at 10:59pm.
