Commissioner Preston sworn in

The Port Commission of the Port of Edmonds held the first scheduled public meeting of the year at 7 p.m., Monday, January 9.

The Commission:

       Witnessed the swearing in of newly elected Port Commissioner David Preston. He replaces former Commissioner Marianne Zagorski, who chose not to run again. Re-elected Commissioner Jim Orvis was sworn earlier.

       Elected new Commissioner officers for 2012. Fred Gouge was elected president, Bruce Faires vice president and Mary Lou Block, secretary.

       Dealt with routine first-of-the-year items, such as affirming the 2012 Commission meeting schedule and discussing various committee assignments.

The next regular meeting of the Port Commission will be at 7:00 PM on Monday, January 30, 2012, in the Port Commission meeting room.

Fourth quarter operating reports and financial reports will be presented.
