The Port Commission of the Port of Edmonds held the first scheduled public meeting of the year at 7 p.m., Monday, January 9.
The Commission:
• Witnessed the swearing in of newly elected Port Commissioner David Preston. He replaces former Commissioner Marianne Zagorski, who chose not to run again. Re-elected Commissioner Jim Orvis was sworn earlier.
• Elected new Commissioner officers for 2012. Fred Gouge was elected president, Bruce Faires vice president and Mary Lou Block, secretary.
• Dealt with routine first-of-the-year items, such as affirming the 2012 Commission meeting schedule and discussing various committee assignments.
The next regular meeting of the Port Commission will be at 7:00 PM on Monday, January 30, 2012, in the Port Commission meeting room.
Fourth quarter operating reports and financial reports will be presented.
