Michelle Mathis, Maplewood K-8; Jeanne Moore, Martha Lake Elementary and Justin Irish, College Place Elementary hope someone will take the trophy and prize money from them at the Street Strut.
Take it from Michelle Mathis, Maplewood K-8, Jeanne Moore; Martha Lake Elementary and Justin Irish, College Place Elementary! Literally . . . the challenge is to take the trophy and the prize money from these three principals in the Edmonds School District in the upcoming 2nd Annual Street Strut hosted by the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation.
The 2nd Annual Street Strut is a fundraiser for the Foundation – and is organized as a way for families to exercise, stay fit and be healthy together.
Last year more than 400 people participated in a scenic 5K run/walk through beautiful downtown Edmonds.
“We are hoping for more than 600 participants this year,” said Debbie Bodal, president of the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation.
“Not only is the 5K Street Strut a great way to build community, it is a way to remember those teachers, staff, and community members who have made a huge difference in the lives of many in the Edmonds School District, “ said Bodal.
Scheduled for 9 a.m., Saturday, October 9, the Street Strut will honor Vic Bennet, a dedicated Lynnwood High School Cross Country coach and teacher.
All proceeds will be used to fund the grant process for the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation. Last May, the Foundation awarded more than $25, 000 to staff throughout the district, who applied for funding for educationally enriching projects.
