Registration is now open for August summer camp and school year classes at new preschool Red Door Montessori, located at 16715 52nd Ave W, Lynnwood.

After spending the last 25 years working in early childhood education and on raising her own children, Bothell native Barbara Boettcher decided to further her entrepreneurial spirit by starting her own school, which celebrates its grand opening July 25.

“I wanted the freedom to combine my passion for early childhood education with the best ideas I’d come across in my experience,” said Boettcher of launching Red Door Montessori.

Consistent with the Montessori method, the preschool will focus on the development of the whole child-- spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically.

“The underlying goal for our preschool will always be to instill in each child a love of learning that will last a lifetime,” said Boettcher, who has seen the long-term benefits of this goal in her experiences with homeschool, public school, and Montessori education.
