Indie artists set for debut
art event, May 10

Puget Sound Indie Art will host its first ever art event, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 10 at Artworks (201 – 2nd Ave. S).  The Spring Art and Craft Show will feature work from 25 local artists and crafters.

“The art work for sale includes a variety of work from funky and edgy art,” says event organizer Sherrie Webster, “ranging from very traditional crafting to up-cycled and vintage.”

The first 50 customers will receive a “swag” bag filled with hand-crafted items from indie artists from throughout the Puget Sound area.

“But local – buy handmade!” says event organizer Webster, a longtime proponent of the buy-local movement.

EWHS Players present “The Odd Couple”

“The Odd Couple,” a hysterical comedy about two great friends that have distinctively different personalities who choose to lie together, has enthralled audiences for years.

But the Edmonds-Woodway High School Players’ production of the show is unique in the fact they perform both Neil Simon’s original version, with a mostly male cast, as well as the rewritten version for a mostly female cast.

“Both versions are equally entertaining and fun,” says EWHS drama instructor Bruce Mindt.

The Male Version is set for 7 p.m. May 15 and 17; The Female Version will show at 7 p.m. May 16 and 3 p.m. May 18.

Tickets: $6 general; $5 with ASB; $12 seniors and children under 12.  They can be purchased at the door.

For more information call Bruce Mindt at (425) 431-6251.
