Editor: I have been reading the Beacon for many years and always make a point of reading Rita Bennett's Worship Column.
She is a widely traveled and highly educated writer and her knowledge and wisdom are undoubtedly touching hundreds of lives every week.
A few weeks ago I began reading the intriguing story about Rita's early years as a young woman who would rather go to a beach party than a prayer meeting and last week about her encounter with death and God's divine purpose for her life.
I am so grateful for this wonderful column and especially Rita Bennett's transparency and willingness to share her fascinating personal story.
It has touched me deeply and I want to thank the Beacon for giving us the privilege and benefit of this truly meaningful column.
In fact, I have often thought the Seattle Times would do well to print her column for their readers also.
