Editor:

It is especially important in these difficult times to build toward the future. And, our children are our future!

On February 9, we can continue to ensure that our children have access to critical educational resources by voting to replace operational levies in the Edmonds and Mukilteo School Districts.

These are replacement levies and do not add an additional tax. The Mukilteo School District is also requesting approval of a capital projects levy for greatly needed maintenance and renovation of its school facilities.

I encourage my fellow residents of the Edmonds and Mukilteo School Districts to continue their strong support of education by voting in support of these critical levies. The consequences of them failing to pass would be devastating.

Specific information on how the monies will be used and the tax impact can be found on the district websites: www.edmonds.wednet.edu and www.mukilteo.wednet.edu.
