The Edmonds Fire Department (EFD) was dispatched to 98 calls in and around Edmonds the week of November 11 - 17, which brings this years call volume to 4,560. Aid crews responded to 65 calls; fire crews responded to 33 incidents.

Sparky the Fire Dog is the official mascot of the National Fire Protection Association.

With kids on school vacations over the holidays, www.sparky.org is a fun website to help keep kids occupied while they learn fire safety at the same time. For kids ages six-to-nine and their families, Sparkys website is filled with bright graphics and sound, with lots of fun and educational activities. Children will enjoy learning about fire and life safety while spending constructive time on the computer.
