Cascade Bank, the principal operating
subsidiary of Cascade Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: CASB), announced today
that its employees donated more than $75,000 to benefit United Way of Snohomish
County during the Bank’s annual eight-week joint fundraising campaign.
“Cascade Bank is one of our strongest
partners,” said Penny Coyne, senior donor relations manager at United Way of
Snohomish County. “Their commitment to the community is immense. Their
employees give, advocate and volunteer not just at campaign time, but year
round.”
The majority of Cascade’s donations
came from employee payroll deductions, but additional funds were also collected
during internal fundraising efforts including bake sales, an employee garage
sale and raffles.
“Cascade employees have long shown
support for the United Way and it is extraordinary to see the level of giving
remain consistent,” said Cascade Bank President and CEO Carol K. Nelson.
In addition to monetary funds,
Cascade employees also donated their time during the United Way’s Day of
Caring. This year, employees
volunteered at three different non-profit organizations in Skagit, Snohomish
and King Counties.
Employees sorted and organized goods
at Food Lifeline in Shoreline and painted and helped with landscaping efforts
at The Landing in Sedro-Woolley and at Sherwood Community Services in Lake
Stevens.
