A week of adventure ends in a lifesaving drama
It was 12:30 a.m. last Friday. Our two Sea Scout boats were docked peacefully at Friday Harbor when they were awakened by frantic shouts for help.
The Port’s Weather Center — free and available to all
Say you’re walking along the boardwalk at the Port and you see whitecaps out on the Sound. You wonder how fast the wind is blowing and whether it will continue or slack off. Another time you may wonder about the tides: when the next high or low tide will be and how high or low it will get. Sometimes you just want to know how hot it is or how cold. Is it going to rain or is there a chance it will snow?
King salmon season opens successfully

The Port takes another environmental step forward
It has been said that our respect for the environment can be measured by what we throw away. Perhaps more realistically, it might better say not only what we throw away, but where and how we choose to do it, as well.
